What We Do
Blue Diamond Drama Academy aims to provide a two year, third level Drama training programme for adults with intellectual disabilities. We are committed to the empowerment and development of talented individuals through the medium of drama and theatre. We are dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to develop their inherent talents, achieve their full potential and pave the way for a future career in drama and the arts.
Blue Diamond is governed by a Board of Directors and Trustees who offer their time and experience on a voluntary basis. The board is made up of seven trustees each of whom are experts in their respective fields.

“This is a small attempt to fill the gap at third level for people in Ireland with intellectual disabilities”
– Dr Anthony Walsh, Founder
The idea for Blue Diamond Drama Academy began with Dr Anthony Walsh and his wife Susan. Having witnessed first-hand the lack of facilities for adults with a talent and passion for drama, they decided to investigate the possibility of providing a place where adults with intellectual disabilities could come together to learn and grow through the medium of performing arts.
